Regular about pages are boring, aren’t they? In addition to having a typical “About Me” page, I decided to have a page where visitors could ask what they want to know instead of me telling them what I think they should know. So go ahead, ask me a question. Of course these questions are moderated, but pretty much anything goes (within reason).
scott is bugging Morning to know:
does this show up right away?
Nope. All the questions are moderated, so as soon as I answer and approve them, they’ll show up.
Dave is too lazy to google. Hey Morning:
Why is it that every wordpress blog noone even bothers to write p{text-indent:15px;} to make a real paragraph?
I really don’t know Dave. I just people are just too lazy.
Katyha is curious about:
Can I add how many questions have been asked and answered and awaiting answering?? Would love to find out!
Not right now. But it should be fairly easy to add that feature. Hopefully in the near future!
Katyha is too lazy to google. Hey Morning:
Some asked this question, how to change phrases and you said “the phrases are saved in database. If you are familiar with MySql and phpmyadmin, you should be able to change them over there”. How do I access this database??
If you don’t have any kind of technical background, it would be best that you ask someone to help you out with it. First of all, you need to check with your hosting company what kind of access to database you have. In most cases, under your control panel, you should have phpmyadmin to access database with your browser. All ‘Ask me’ tables has prefix so it should be easy to figure out which ones belongs to this plugin.
I hope this helps. If not, please contact me through my contact page and I’ll try to help you out.
phil thinks Google sucks and instead asks Morning:
hi, im just getting to grips with Smarty, however im having trouble installing it. I use a mac and ive followed the insti9llation procedure on theofficial site, but when i go to test it i am given this result Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: “index.tpl” in /home/g21theo/public_html/includes/Smarty-2.6.18/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1095
i looked at the line of code and im stumped, any thought or help would be greatly appreciated
many thanks
Hey Phil,
Sorry for the delay in answer. The problem is not in Smarty.class.php, but in location of your template file. Smarty cannot find it in the defined location. Make sure you defined properly where your templates are located and that you save them there. Download the code from my smarty post, if you already haven’t to see how I handle paths.
love your blog. i am totally new to this and have no idea how to encourage of even know if anybody can see my page. how do ya know if your being published or even read. its an ego thing. i love to write and it would be terrific to know if people like and read same. thanks in advance for any advice you might have. again your blog is brill keep going.
Hey Lynda,
Yes, your page is viewable! However, to know who actually visits your page, you should install any kind of tracking system on your blog. If you can access source code of your pages, you can add a tracking code to it and be able to see where are your visitors coming from and how many of them you are getting. I can recommend Google Analytics to you. Instructions are very easy to follow so it shouldn’t be much trouble to implement it into your blog. If you still need assistance, just let me know.
Thanks for stopping by.
Brenda has no idea about:
this plugin rocks, but can i know the plugin code for calling up the plugin, its should be put under the ask me page.. cause when i want to manage the page the it doesnt want to work..
gosh, i hope this question is understandable
It seems that you haven’t disabled ‘Use the visual editor when writing’ under your Users Option in WP admin. If you disable it, you should be able to see the actual code. Let me know if that worked.
May I ask about this plugin? I have downloaded it. I activated it once. Then i made some changes in phrases like “is clueless about” to texts into my native language. But somehow they still stay the same. Does this plugin save those phrases somwhere? How can i change them? Thanks.

Yes, the phrases are saved in database. If you are familiar with MySql and phpmyadmin, you should be able to change them over there.
I think the question is… when will YOU come see me? You need to remember..I have kids to look after. You have hamsters. BIG difference!
Fine, I agree, kids can’t be compared with hammies, but still, we agreed that you’ll come to visit me first!!
Hi!
Who designed your website and do you have any recommendations for starting your own blog?
Paul
Hi Paul. Thanks for stopping by. I designed this website. It uses Wordpress as a platform and custom design I created. I’m not sure what kind of recommendations you are looking for. If you are completely new to blogging, why don’t you visit
The Blog Experiment Forum and get info you need. You can find me there as well.

What’s your favorite kind of coffee?
If you have had asked me this few months ago, I would say
Turkish Coffee, but lately I only drink
Nescafé Classic. No milk, no sugar.

SO I installed your ask-me plugin and everything is working fine except I can’t edit the file. In wordpress you know how on your dashboard you can go to plugins and edit them from there? Well it says I don’t have permission to do that [edit the page]. I’ve tried going into my FTP files and editing the file from there but it doesn’t change, I can’t change anything. Do you know what’s wrong? I’d be eternally grateful if you could help me! Much thanks in advance.
I’m not sure which page you would like to change? The display page? If so, you should go to Manage->Pages from your Dashboard and change the text there. Plugin file doesn’t contain text that is shown on your ask me page. Hope I helped. If not, you can contact me through my contact form and I’ll try to help.
Kevin is too lazy to google. Hey Morning:
Why is it that you don’t have morningcaffiene.com registered as well? It is available (just FYI). That way the “spelling-challenged” like myself can still visit your site by being redirected to the correct domain instead of being reminded daily that I can’t spell caffeine …

Well, Kevin, this way, you can practice your spelling

Thank You
You are welcome, Alex. Now, what did you want to ask?
InvisibleSurfer is left to wonder:
Is it true that women don’t know how to make a proper cup of coffee? I know my girlfriend can’t make a nice cup to save her life, nor did my ex. I walk by cafeterias and whenever I see a woman making the drinks I move on to the next one. Are we doomed to live in a world were us men will never ever be served a great cup of coffee? Thanks.
Hm.. Actually I have never heard that it’s the general opinion that women can’t make a good coffee. Making a good coffee firstly depends on a coffee seeds. It seems that seeds from plan Coffea arabica are more tasteful than Coffea canephora (which contains more caffeine, but has no strong taste as Arabica). Second parameter is probably roasting seeds and it differs from company to company. Third parameter would be method of coffee preparation. And last, but not least is human factor. As I haven’t investigated over the years who makes better coffee (men or women), I can tell you that I got different feedback from my friends. Sometimes, they are delighted with my coffee and sometimes it didn’t taste very well. Also, in my coffee shop, I am more satisfied with coffee made by a girl who works there than a boy who made me a horrible coffee once. To conclude: I have no idea if you gonna get a good cup of coffee made by a woman.
